Congratulations to Pete Erickson, Anton Shirikov, and Chagai Weiss for receiving the Department’s Best Dissertation Prizes!

Lieutenant Colonel Pete Erickson received the Department’s Best Dissertation Prize in International Relations for his dissertation, “Inescapable: Polarization, Prestige, and the US Military in Politics.” Pete returned to the Army following completion of his doctoral degree.

Anton Shirikov, “How Propaganda Works: Political Biases and News Credibility in Autocracies”, and Chagai Weiss, “Prejudice Reduction at Scale: How Institutional Inclusion Reduces Social Exclusion”, both received the Department’s Best Dissertation Prize in Comparative Politics. Anton is currently a postdoctoral scholar in Russian Politics at the Harriman Institute at Columbia University. Chagai is a postdoctoral fellow at the Conflict and Polarization Lab at Stanford University.
