Biography
Evgeniya Mitrokhina is a PhD Candidate in Comparative Politics at UW-Madison. She is interested in state-society relationships and authoritarian regime persistence. Evgeniya is writing her dissertation about transparency initiatives in autocracies, examining the causes and consequences of data disclosure in Russia. Additionally, she is interested in the role of bureaucracy in the survival of authoritarian regimes. Through her participation in various research projects, Evgeniya gained experience in designing, fielding, and analysing public opinion surveys.
Prior to joining UW-Madison, Evgeniya studied political science and sociology, and worked as a research assistant at, the Higher School of Economics in Moscow.
