Leanne Matchen

Leanne Matchen is Associate General Counsel for UnitedHealth Group.  Leanne partners with business leaders to tackle a wide spectrum of litigation matters, including class actions, real estate, employment, ERISA, intellectual property, and contract disputes.  Previously, she worked for a large law firm in Minneapolis where she handled domestic and international litigation for numerous Fortune 500 companies in the areas of banking, healthcare, medical devices, mining, and retail.  Leanne focuses her pro bono work on elections.  She has volunteered with the ACLU’s Election Protection program and the Minnesota Secretary of State for over a decade to protect the right to vote.  Leanne earned her bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2003, followed by a year in France teaching English to middle school students.  Leanne returned to Madison and graduated from the University of Wisconsin Law School in 2008 where she was a Managing Editor for the Wisconsin Law Review and her article was selected for publication.  She also received recognition for oral argument and written memorandum at the 2007 William C. Vis East International Commercial Arbitration Moot in Hong Kong.
