Biography
Matthias Elijah Lopez is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Political Science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison within the American Politics subfield. His current research interest is at the intersection of biological and cognitive processes and the conception of the state at the institutional and individual levels.
Before attending UW-Madison, Matthias completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Psychology and Neuroscience of Mental Health, passing with Merit from King’s College London. Additionally, Matthias earned a Bachelor of Arts (magna cum laude), double major in Political Science (Honors) and Philosophy (Honors) from the University of the Pacific, with minors in Psychology and International Studies, and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.
