Lisa de Sousa Dias

Position title: Ph.D. Candidate: Comparative Politics

Lisa is a Ph.D. Candidate at UW-Madison in Comparative Politics. Her research interests are motivated by a desire to understand what it means to live with and survive violent conflict, as well as its enduring consequences for individuals and communities. This had led her to focus on questions of political violence, forced migration, and refugee return, primarily in sub-Saharan Africa. Prior to joining UW-Madison, Lisa received a BA from Mount Holyoke College in International Relations.
