Laura Lake

Laura is the founder and president of Lake and Lake Consulting, a consulting firm that focuses on strategic analysis of development projects and community organizing. She is also the co-president of Save Westwood Village, a non-profit organization dedicated to quality revitalization of the Westwood Village neighborhood in Los Angeles, and of the Coalition for Veteran’s Land, a non-profit organization that protects the quality of life for veterans in Los Angeles. Previously, she was on the Environmental Science Department faculty at UCLA and was a program officer at the Ford Foundation.

Laura was well-known in the 1980s for leading Not Yet New York, a political organization with goals of slowing the growth of Los Angeles and preserving open space and low density. She is an environmental professional, community advocate, author, and expert on public involvement in policy implementation.
