George Broder

Credentials: B.A. Political Science 1978

George is the President of George Broder Group, LLC, a public affairs, government relations, strategic communications consultancy based in San Francisco. His first class on campus, Poli Sci 101, was taught by Professor David Adamany. He balanced academia with practical experience in the State Capitol with positions in the Governor’s Office as a press assistant and manager of a statewide Supreme Court Judicial race. He took a one-year break for a Presidential campaign in 1976. He moved to Los Angeles in 1981 to join the team being assembled by Peter V. Ueberroth at the Organizing Committee for the 1984 Olympic Games. As a Deputy Press Secretary he served as an official spokesman for the Committee. After the Games, he moved north to San Francisco as a Special Assistant in the Office of Mayor Dianne Feinstein. Following the end of Feinstein’s second term, Broder went back to the private sector as Vice President/Public Affairs–CA with Eller Media (now Clear Channel Outdoor), the nation’s largest outdoor advertising company. In 1999, after a decade with Eller Media, Broder formed George Broder Group, LLC.
