Bio

Saloni Bhogale is pursuing an MS in Applied Statistics and a PhD in the Department of Political Science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She studies the political economy of development, and her dissertation, in particular, involves research on access to justice in developing countries. In her papers, she studies the institutions and policies that can facilitate access to justice.  She has other ongoing work on incentives and representation in parliamentary institutions, focusing on South Asia. She also develops methods to address heterogeneity by leveraging flexible machine-learning methods for causal inference. She is affiliated with UW-Madison’s Center for High Throughput Computing and frequently leverages scientific computing to improve the performance of tasks in the research pipeline.
