Diversity Visiting Day

The Political Science Department at the University of Wisconsin-Madison will be hosting an annual Visiting Day for undergraduate students from underrepresented backgrounds with an interest in political science and a potential for graduate study in the field. We will cover all expenses related to transportation, housing, and dining.

The Visiting Day will be a one-day event in which students will hear presentations on political science research at Wisconsin from our faculty and advanced graduate students on topics in comparative politics, international relations, American politics, and political theory. In addition, we will have conversations about applying to graduate school, grad school life, and post-grad school career paths. We will focus especially on how to navigate academic culture and the support networks available to first-generation graduate students and students from underrepresented backgrounds.

Interested students should send a cover letter, transcript, and letter of recommendation to Professor Nadav Shelef at shelef@wisc.edu.
