Raied is a second-year PhD student primarily interested in Law and Social Movements. His current project explores how social movements employ the law as a catalyst for political mobilization. He explores those questions within the context of social movements in Israel, mainly the movement for Palestinian-minority rights and the women’s rights movement.
He completed his BA in International Studies (Honors with Distinction) at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, BC, Canada. Raied speaks Arabic and Hebrew fluently, and has conducted fieldwork in Israel multiple times in the past. In the summer of 2017, he attended the Institute for Qualitative and Multi-method Research (IQMR) at Syracuse University.
