I am a Ph.D. candidate in Political Science at the University of Wisconsin - Madison, where I study international relations, American politics, and research methods.   My primary research focus is on the domestic politics of U.S. national security policy.

At Wisconsin, I am a coordinator of the Political Science Grad Association, which organizes professional development workshops for graduate students in the department.  I am also an elected member of the department's Graduate Program Committee.  I currently lecture on American foreign policy and statistical computing, and I have been a TA for several courses in international relations, American politics, and statistics. I have also served twice as a TA for Maximum Likelihood Estimation at the ICPSR summer program in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

I graduated in 2001 from Swarthmore College, where I received a B.A. in Political Science and History.  The following year, I was a Fulbright Scholar at Lunds Universitet in Sweden, earning a Master of European Politics degree.  From 2002 to 2004, I worked as a political consultant for a firm in Washington, D.C. and for two statewide campaigns in South Dakota and Missouri.  I am originally from the city of Minneapolis in the great state of Minnesota.
